The more you keep your identity as a small business owner
concealed, the less you succeed.
Sure, sure…it’s cool to be like James Bond but
in this business my friend all that will get you is bank account
resembling 00.7.
That is why it so essential to believe in yourself and what
you are doing. I know that there are people that think only
desperate people do network marketing and there will even
be people that talk about you behind your back.
News flash! Those people will also be talking about you when
you lose your car, your job and anything else their boring
lives find amusing.
Forget them. If you are serious about success then you need
to make people aware of your intentions and carry yourself
as an entrepreneur.
By the way, have you ever noticed that entrepreneur and manure
rhyme?
That’s because working for yourself beats the crap
out of working for someone else!
Back to the story….
Some people think that the way to not be a secret agent is
to wear all kinds of things promoting your company,; stickers
on your car, buttons, pins and who knows what else.
I’m not saying that it is bad to do such things I am
only telling you that if this is the only way you are promoting
your business then you are only externalizing your commitment.
(Besides, some people might think you work at a TGI Friday’s
or something)
To be truly successful lat anything you have to live it,
breathe it and bleed it. This is better known as internalizing
your business. Being the ball as Carl, Bill Murray’s
character in Caddy Shack claimed.
Yes…be the ball. Be it! Live it! Make it you.
Share your enthusiasm and your passion with people and you
will be amazed how contagious it is. That’s what people
want to be around and that’s what will get people interested
in your opportunity.
Here a few tips to avoid the pain and frustration
of being a secret agent:
• When someone asks you “what’s
new?”…Tell them!
• When people ask you what you do for a living don’t
say, “I clean carpets,”
even if that’s what your regular
job is. Tell them what you are doing.
• Join a service club as a small business owner
• Share your story as often as you can
And never ever forget…”Dare to be
bold and great and powerful sources will come to your aid!”
